Lory-Ann Trépanier Bouchard vs. l’Association internationale des machinistes et des travailleurs et travailleuses de l’aérospatiale (AIMTA) et la Section locale 2323 de l’AIMTA

Petitioner, Lory-Ann Trépanier Bouchard, has instituted in the Superior Court of Montreal a Motion for authorization to institute a class action against l’Association internationale des machinistes et des travailleurs et travailleuses de l’aérospatiale (AIMTA) et la Section locale 2323 de l’AIMTA.

On July 5th, 2013, Justice Robert Mongeon granted said Motion for authorization to institute a class action, the whole as appears from a copy of the judgment.

The group targeted by this class action is the following (free translation): “All the individuals whose direct, stopover-free flight with or operated by Air Canada or Jazz was cancelled on March 23rd, 2012 solely because of Air Canada baggage handlers’, members of the Defendants, illegal strike at the Montreal-Trudeau International Airport and the Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport. “Cancelled flight” is understood to mean only the first segment of a flight leaving from Montreal or Quebec City or the last segment of a flight to Montreal or Quebec City”.

The Motion to Institute Proceedings was served and filed in the Court record.
